This section lists other Associations, Groups and Jams in Southern Arizona. They may not all be "Old Time," but they are acoustic and "folk" oriented.


Tucson Friends of Traditional Music
Tucson Friends of Traditional Music (TFTM) is dedicated to keeping the traditions of community music and dance alive and growing in Tucson. TFTM sponsors and promotes concerts, dances, workshops, and informal music sessions. Through these activities and a newsletter publication, TFTM builds awareness, educates, and fosters diversity in music and dance in the Tucson community.

Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association
TKMA is an organization of like-minded people with the common goal of helping to promote the enjoyment of folk music in Southern Arizona, whether that be listening to, or playing. The festival is supported in part by the Arizona Commission on the Arts, Arizona ArtShare and the Tucson-Pima Arts Council. The highlight of their year is the Annual Tucson Folk Festival, held in downtown Tucson, the first weekend in May.

Desert Bluegrass Association
The Desert Bluegrass Association (DBA) was formed in Tucson, Arizona in March, 1995 to promote, preserve and perpetuate traditional Bluegrass music in Greater Tucson and Southern Arizona. The DBA is an all volunteer non-profit organization consisting of not only local members but numerous visitors (snowbirds) from throughout the United States and Canada.

Arizona Old Time Fiddlers Association
The Arizona Old Time Fiddlers Association is a non-profit organization whose objective is to preserve, promote and perpetuate the art of old time fiddling, to encourage all people, young and old, to develop their musical talents and afford them opportunities to perform in public, to hold jam sessions and other musical events, for the members own enjoyment and to educate the public on the values of old time fiddling. And to brighten and improve the lives of "shut-ins" and other needy people, by furnishing musical entertainment and performing other charitable, civic and community services.

Arthritis Brothers
A Southern Arizona Old-Time band. Great folks, great music. They not only perform, but hold one of the few monthly Old-Time jams available in the greater Tucson/Southern Arizona area. CD's of their stuff are available on their site.
